Wordless Wednesday

This is my son's car - his airbag did not deploy and he broke some of his teeth on the steering wheel - granted his teeth were in really bad shape to start with. But my point is that he would not have taken a bite out of his steering wheel if the airbag had deployed. GM says that the airbag was not defective and that the car has to hit in a certain way before the airbag deploys. Excuse me??? How hard does it have to hit? This car is completely totaled. Head on with a light pole.

Hmmm. One wonders. If they don't deploy in a straight head-on collision...

You forgot to mention that GM recalled the airbags in his car, and still say this may not have been defective.

I'm with you. This seems like EXACTLY the sort of impact that should set off an airbag. I'm glad your son is ok...teeth notwithstanding.

WHAT??? your kidding??? The whole purpose for the airbag is to deploy upon impact...most are usually sensitive. Id seek legal counsel on this one. Im glad your son is OK...that just pisses me off. I have a 15 year old getting ready to drive. Its so scary!!

I am glad your son got away with minor injuries but I think GM is full of it. I'd be getting a lawyer for this one.

Oh wow! I hope my kids never want to drive!!! (what universe am I living in, right?) Teenagers are so scary on the road, I remember what I was like, and I am amazed I lived to adulthood! Hope he feels better soon, and GM is just trying to avoid a law suit....their pat answer...oh we are not at fault! Good luck with this....I hope you have the energy to fight them because that is just not right.

So glad your son is okay! That's a lot of damage from a light pole.

I was in an accident once where I thought the air bags should have deployed. I was told the impact needs to hit more towards the sides of the bumper. So, if they can put sensors towards the sides of the bumper, why can't they put one in the middle too? Makes no sense.

Just glad he's okay, other than his teeth.

I am glad to hear he escaped with only minor injuries. Is there any other action you can take against GM? Im sorry you are going through this.
